approximate and are in miles.
AIR TRAVEL
If
you do not intend to bring a car, or if you wish to hire one in France then this
is a real possibility. British Airways operate regular flights from Gatwick and
Birmingham to
Bordeaux (Merignac) airport and Flybe operate from Bristol. The airport offers
all of the usual facilities such as taxis and bus connections and the usual high
street car hire companies operate from here as well i.e. ADA, Avis, Budget, National,
Europcar, Hertz and Six-Euro Rent to name a few.
TRAIN
If
you get sea sick or don't like flying then why not let the train take the
strain! Take the Eurostar from London Waterloo to Paris Gare du Nord, this link
maybe able to help you with travel planning:
http://www.eurostar.com.
Then there is the
possibility of catching the TGV from Paris Montparnasse through to Bordeaux (or
Arcachon on occasions). For train times it is probably best to follow this link
http://www.tgv.com.
There is an SNCF train station in La Teste a short walk from the apartment that
runs between Arcachon and Bordeaux.
If you travel by train through to Arcachon and
wish to take a hire car then across the road from the train station you will
find Avis and a few kilometres further you will find Hertz car hire.
